Relational Pathway
Relational Circles
Relational Circles take place in our shared space and provide a structured, nurturing environment where young people can connect with trusted adults, build positive relationships with peers and develop the social and emotional skills they need to thrive. They support personal development, emotional wellbeing and behaviour regulation through guided discussion, shared activities and reflective practice. Each session creates a predictable, emotionally safe atmosphere where every young person feels seen, heard and valued.
Young people explore themes such as emotional literacy, healthy relationships, identity, decision‑making, resilience and aspirations. Through respectful dialogue and collaborative problem‑solving, they learn to manage conflict, understand consequences and develop empathy.
Relational Circles also offer opportunities for restorative conversations, co‑regulation and repairing relationships, helping young people reflect on their choices and build confidence in navigating challenges.
Sessions follow a consistent routine with check‑ins, shared agreements and purposeful activities including team‑building games, creative reflection and scenario‑based
discussions. Staff use attunement, curiosity, predictability and co‑regulation to ensure every learner feels emotionally supported.
Relational Circles strengthen belonging, communication and self‑awareness, helping young people engage more confidently in their education and develop skills that support them well beyond the classroom.
Relational Circles Aims To:
- Build trusting, secure relationships between all
- Develop social and emotional skills, including communication, empathy and self-awareness

The overarching intent is to create a relational foundation that enables young people to engage more confidently within their education, life opportunities and to use and apply the skills they develop.
